R-Directed! What's That?
Being born a right-brained kid, Radha Kapoor Khanna headed to the Parsons New York, in 2004, to major in communication design. Right from that time, her experiences as a student in the design hub of New York city and her frequent travel to other design cities led to a germ of this think tank of an information that influenced her thought process and her outlook towards everything around her. This is where she enhanced her love for design based research, ethnography studies and developed a keen eye for creative observations. Each of these thriving centers of design and innovation led to her passion project for life – DICE – Design, Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship.
On one of such trips to the Silicon Valley in 2015, where innovations and new-age ideas come to life on a daily basis, she felt that with all the young aspiring creative talent and the rise of innovative startups in India (3rd in the global startup ecosystem), there was a need to curate a digital platform that shares these amazing innovations and the stories of these creative entrepreneurs.
SAY HELLO TO R-DIRECTED!
Inspired by the bestseller “A Whole New Mind” by Daniel Pink, Radha Kapoor Khanna is here with R-Directed – a platform that brings access to stories of right-brained and design thinking approaches and that aids as a connecting dot between cases of innovation and creativity, that’s changing the way the world around us functions.
Design thinking has seen its light right from the application of meeting customers and coming up with clever real world solutions to improve products deployed by the product team at AirBNB, to how Apple bought fashion into appliances when no one was offering that and how it got tech powress into fashion when none was offering that either.
That leads us to R-Directed and our vision to bring to you stories from across the globe of design, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship with a focus on “Made In India”. R-Directed is all about such examples of Design thinking and its concept of bringing empathy, art and innovation in business and to bridge the gap between mainstream and underground art forms.
